In our grill, a big variety of courts, meats of calf meat, lamb, pork, kidney, sausages and trip are grilled daily. The fishes and seafood arrive directly from the port, so do the vegetables and fresh fruits from the garden.Although –we have to recognize it- our more important ingredient is you.
Mr. Emilio Portela arrived in Montevideo when he was 17 years old, as an immigrant, intending to work. He became waiter at a small grill called El Palenque.
Some years later he bought the business in installments, as a result of his labour. Many years later, thousands of clients have eaten at the restaurant that today is El Palenque. Its traditional restaurant in the 'Mercado del Puerto' is no longer just a grill and it is positioned as a restaurant for culinary connoisseurs.
In 2002 he incorporated his restaurant in Punta del Este with facilities especially designed to accommodate the large number of tourists who annually visit this resort.
